Teaching Philosophy

I believe the most important part of music lessons is that students enjoy making music. Having fun is essential to learning, and I aim to create lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and inspiring. Music is such a special part of our lives, and I love helping students discover their own connection to it and develop a genuine sense of joy in the process.

I tailor each lesson to support the individual goals of every student—whether they are exploring a new hobby, preparing for an audition, building confidence, or developing self-expression and creativity. I approach teaching with kindness, respect, and patience, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, learning from mistakes, and growing at their own pace.

Through encouragement, enthusiasm, and strong fundamentals, I want my students to feel proud of their progress and equipped with the skills they need to continue on their musical journey.

Flute Lessons

I offer flute lessons beginning at age 7. I teach all levels, including beginner, intermediate and advanced.

My students have gone on to earn acceptance into youth orchestras, CEGEP and university music programs, conservatories, and summer festivals.

I teach private lessons in the neighbourhood of Luxton in Winnipeg, Canada, and online. In-person lessons offer a warm, personal learning environment that is ideal for developing musical skills, while online lessons provide flexibility and the convenience of learning from anywhere.
